Blackthorn Road Closure Update
Construction is underway on the new M50 Junction 14 Link Road Scheme.
The scheme involves the creation of a new link road connecting the existing signalised roundabout at M50 Junction 14 on Leopardstown Road to Blackthorn Road.
The project will deliver substantial improvements, including:
- A new signalised junction on Blackthorn Road
- Upgrades to the existing M50 J14 roundabout to accommodate the new link
- Enhanced pedestrian and cyclist crossings on Leopardstown Road
- Dedicated active travel facilities promoting walking and cycling
A 12-week road closure on Blackthorn Road is planned to start on January 19th to facilitate essential utility diversions.
Traffic management will be a key focus, with measures implemented to minimise disruption to businesses and commuters.
SBD continues to engage with BAM Civil Ltd, Uisce Éireann, GMC Utilities Group, and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council with weekly meetings to support our district and keep businesses and commuters updated.
