Over the past number of days, we have been actively engaging with stakeholders regarding the closure of Carmanhall Road and the resulting traffic congestion across the area.
As part of these discussions, we met directly with senior officials in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council over the last two days to press for an immediate, practical solution to ease congestion.
We are pleased to confirm that work on Carmanhall Road will now finish tomorrow, Saturday February 14th. The road will remain open until the works on Blackthorn Road are fully completed and it can fully reopen.
The Blackthorn Road works form part of the long-awaited M50 Junction 14 relief road, a project that has been advocated for over 14 years. While the disruption is challenging in the short term, this project is designed to permanently improve traffic circulation and address the structural congestion that has affected the district for years.
Its completion will bring long-term economic and operational benefits for Sandyford Business District, including improved access, increased development capacity, and stronger infrastructure resilience. We remain committed to representing your interests and will continue working to minimise disruption while these essential works are underway.
