Communiqué for members regarding proposed IPAS Centre at Oak/Elm House

Dear Member,
We have been made aware through social media of recent developments regarding the potential redevelopment of a nearby building to accommodate international protection applicants. We are engaging with central Government, and IPAS directly, to gain clarity on the potential development of an International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) centre and to ensure that the concerns of businesses and residents in the district are considered in this decision and any future planning.
Sandyford Business District (SBD) is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and thriving business community. While we fully respect the right of individuals to seek protection and we support compassionate, lawful responses, we believe any such proposals must be matched with proper planning, infrastructure, and meaningful consultation with the local community.
SBD has made representations to the Minister for Justice and is engaging with officials and key decision-makers on your behalf seeking for a transparent, collaborative process that includes input from businesses and residents before any decisions are made. We remain fully committed to representing the interests of our members and will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders on your behalf.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ger Corbett
CEO
