LDA and HRI Strike Landmark Deal to Unlock Land for 800 New Homes at Leopardstown Racecourse

The Land Development Agency (LDA) and Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) have finalized an agreement for the transfer of approximately 17 acres of land at Leopardstown Racecourse in south Dublin, with the potential to accommodate up to 800 new homes.
Under the agreement, HRI will transfer ownership of the land to the LDA. The planned residential development will benefit from a newly established Luas station on the site, enhancing public transport access.
Both state agencies will work in partnership, and in close consultation with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, to create a comprehensive masterplan for Leopardstown. This initiative aims to deliver much-needed affordable housing while preserving and enhancing the racecourse and its wide range of racing and non-racing amenities.
