SBD Roadworks Updates

UPDATE DECEMBER 12TH 2025

Uisce Éireann has confirmed that works on the current side of the road are scheduled to conclude on Monday, December 22nd. Works will then pause for the Christmas period and are due to recommence on Monday, January 5th on the opposite side of the road. SBD understands that this next phase will be of a shorter duration than the current programme.

SBD continues to engage closely with the Director of Services at Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the wider project team. Concurrently, SBD participates in weekly coordination meetings with BAM Civil Ltd. to ensure access to the most up-to-date project information and to facilitate timely communication with businesses as issues arise.

Separately, SBD maintains ongoing liaison with Uisce Éireann and GMC Utilities Group, with weekly update meetings scheduled for the duration of the construction phase.

Matters raised by local businesses - including traffic management arrangements, sequencing of works, site operating hours and compliance with agreed traffic management plans - are formally communicated through these forums for review and follow-up.

Sandyford Business District (SBD) is pleased to confirm the commencement of the M50 Junction 14 Link Road Scheme, a major infrastructure project long championed by SBD on behalf of local businesses and residents.

This milestone marks the culmination of sustained advocacy to improve connectivity, enhance mobility, and reduce congestion across The District and surrounding areas.

Road closures begin on 19 January and will remain in place for approximately three months.

The project includes the construction of a new link road connecting the existing signalised roundabout at M50 Junction 14 on Leopardstown Road to Blackthorn Road.

Traffic management will be a key focus, with measures implemented to minimise disruption for businesses and commuters. Regular updates will be available via the SBD website.
