Shared eMobility hub pilot in Sandyford Business Park

ESB and SBD collaborates with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and leading car sharing operators to launch EV Hub as part of pilot project

• Shared eMobility hub pilot in Sandyford Business Park will be in place for a 24-month period

• Car share operators Go Car and Yuko to provide electric vehicles at eHub location.

ESB has launched a new shared emobility hub on Three Rock Road in Sandyford Business Park. This purpose built eHub includes an ESB charge station and two shared EVs available to book at the site. The eHub’s ESB charge station is exclusively for the two shared EVs.

ESB’s innovation team has collaborated with Sandyford Business District and Dún Laoghaire- Rathdown County Council to develop transportation options ensuring that electric vehicles are accessible to a broad range of people, while contributing to more sustainable and connected communities.

The Electric vehicles will be provided by car share operators Go Car and Yuko and will be integrated into the suppliers’ existing car share booking apps, making it easier for users to book.

The eHubs pilot project aims to make shared electric vehicles affordable and accessible, leading the way for greener, more sustainable communities.

By providing convenient access to shared EVs, these eHubs will encourage more residents and businesses to opt for sustainable travel solutions.”

Cllr Jim O’Leary, Cathaoirleach, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said: “We are proud to announce the launch of a new electric car share scheme in Sandyford Business District, in partnership with ESB, Go Car, and Yuko. This initiative directly supports our Climate Action Plan 2024-2029, which champions the expansion of EV car sharing. With its concentration of over 1,000 businesses, 26,000 employees, and 6,000 residents, Sandyford Business District is the ideal location to pilot this sustainable transport solution.”
