IB-Green Award
Showcase your company’s commitment to sustainability and gain recognition for your climate resilience initiatives with the EU-wide IB-Green Award!
This award is part of the European project “IB-Green: Industrial and Business Parks – Climate Resilient & Fit for the Future,” which aims to measure and highlight best practices in climate resilience.
At Sandyford Business District, we are proud to be a pilot city for this initiative, celebrating companies that implement blue and green infrastructure (GBI) measures such as green roofs, permeable parking spaces, and green recreational areas. These efforts not only enhance employee well-being but also bolster resilience against climate challenges like heatwaves, heavy rainfall, and flooding.
We invite all companies, even those not yet engaged in GBI, to apply by submitting their logo within the survey. By doing so, you will gain access to an impulse workshop that can help you kickstart your sustainability journey!

Three-Step Process:
- Step 1: Apply here
- Step 2: Complete the questionnaire
- Step 3: Upload any additional information (such as pictures or planning documents) as a .zip file.
The Bonn Science Shop (WILA) jury will then review the submission and contact the applicant.

IB-Green Seminar Recap: Greening Buildings for a Climate-Resilient Future
On May 7, WILA Bonn and Sandyford Business District co-hosted the first exclusive IB-Green seminar, “Greening Buildings for a Climate-Resilient Future.”
The event brought together a diverse group of participants, including award-winning companies from Germany, representatives from Irish local councils, and IB-Green partner organisations. Expert speakers Dr. Anna-Christine Sander (HLNUG) and Stefan Zeller (BuGG e. V.) delivered insightful presentations on the role of green infrastructure—such as green roofs and façades—in climate adaptation. A dynamic Q&A session followed, sparking further dialogue and collaboration.
This seminar marked the beginning of a broader IB-Green initiative to promote sustainable practices across Europe, with Sandyford Business District acting as the pilot site.
What’s Next?
Stay tuned for our next seminar in late June, focusing on urban biodiversity. More details coming soon.
