Gallery Sandyford Business District Innovation Series 2025 AI in Business December 1st in Microsoft

A brilliant morning of insight, innovation, and inspiration at the final session in the Sandyford Business District Innovation Series 2025: AI in Business.

We were delighted to host a session on December 1st in collaboration with Microsoft at their Leopardstown campus, bringing together local businesses to explore how AI is reshaping the future of work, productivity, and growth.

Jonathan Eustace, SMC Lead at Microsoft, shared an excellent deep dive into Microsoft’s success framework for embracing AI and “Becoming Frontier.”
With over a decade of expertise in cloud transformation and enterprise software, Jonathan highlighted how AI can:
Enrich employee experiences, reinvent customer engagement, reshape business processes and bend the curve on innovation

He also outlined the five key drivers of AI value:
1. Organisation & Culture
2. Business Strategy
3. Applied AI Experience
4. AI Governance
5. Technology Strategy

We were also joined by John Mitchell, CEO and Head of Strategy at All human — an award-winning digital design, technology, and AI company recognised globally for its work.

John reminded us that AI is no longer experimental — it is foundational.
AI transforms data into decisions, augments (rather than replaces) the workforce, and businesses embracing it are already outperforming competitors.
He shared a clear, practical 10-step plan to operationalise AI:
1. Identify use cases
2. Set KPIs
3. Build a data strategy
4. Select the right tools
5. Upskill your team
6. Start small, then scale
7. Monitor and measure
8. Foster a culture of experimentation
9. Stay informed
10. Use partners — including universities and research institutions

Ger Corbett, CEO of SBD concluded the morning session by emphasising the importance of leveraging partners, particularly for SMEs. He highlighted SBD’s MOUs and collaborations with third-level institutions, including NovaUCD and Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, and encouraged attendees to reach out if they would like support or introductions to research and innovation partners.

A big thank you to our speakers, our partners at Microsoft, Victoria Keogh and her team and all who attended.

Events like this showcase the value of collaboration and the exciting opportunities AI presents for businesses of all sizes.
