Government’s Summer Economic Statement

The statement sets out that Budget 2027 will be based on four pillars:
Pillar #1: Rewarding work and effort
Pillar #2: Improving public services
Pillar #3: Investment in critical infrastructure
Pillar #4: Investing for the future
As expected, there will a tax package comprised of €1.5 billion of new tax measures. While the Government’s statement does not provide any details of planned tax measures, it does confirm the priority focus of ensuring “wage increases should not push people into higher tax bands”.
