Coinciding with St Patrick’s Day, the delegation participated in key cultural and diplomatic events, including the NYC Parade and official receptions, enhancing Ireland-US relationships.

The mission also focused on commercial opportunities, with meetings involving investors such as Murat Aktihanoglu, who expressed strong interest in SBD’s planned Innovation Campus. A visit to BATWorks showcased a successful model of a repurposed green tech innovation hub.

The visit concluded with discussions with Katherine Tarbox on establishing an Innovation Campus in Sandyford, a move that could help Irish Start-ups and Scale-Ups scale domestically before expanding internationally.

Overall, the mission strengthened transatlantic relationships, reinforced government and investor support and positioned Sandyford Business District as an emerging innovation district connecting Ireland, Europe and the United States.
